Senior Sources

The mission of Senior Sources is to strengthen the feeling of community among all parishioners 50 years of age and older by providing opportunities for fellowship, spiritual enrichment and skill sharing. Dedicated to Christ, we are a Ministry of sharing and love accomplished through acts of spirituality, skill sharing, support, social interaction and communication. We serve those searching for a deeper spirituality, those wishing to socialize with other parishioners, and those seeking ways to help improve the lives of others.

We will do this by sponsoring Christ-centered social events, and identifying the many parish and community resources available for help and referrals to those seeking our aid.

Planned social activities will be  developed throughout the year and announced in our parish bulletin and notification will be mailed to all parishioners who meet our age restriction and signed up for our mailing list. Additionally, we will keep in touch with our members on specific details of each function through our regular on-line web presence.

Volunteers are needed to help plan and carry out our social, service and spiritual activities throughout the year. Suggestions are always welcome.  Our committees developing these activities could benefit greatly from your practical life experience. Give us a call if you’d like to help (916) 487-1103 ask for Dave.

It is the intention of this ministry to match up those that are willing to demonstrate, display, discuss or educate with those (regardless of age) wanting to learn in small interest groups.  Where possible a partner, who has done the process before, will be assigned to each demonstrator or tutor.

Parishioner’s talents and practical life experience are not always obvious to the parishioner, they may be as diverse as a style of cooking (Italian for example), a gardening method (Bonsai, herbs, roses), interest in travel, card games (pinochle, Bunco), candy making, sewing, quilting, food preservation, or cheese making.  The talent may be a hobby, a occupation or simply a day to day survival skill.
